FAQ
Is using this on a test allowed?+
Depends on your school and exam. Many tests prohibit any internet-connected device. The TI-32 is one. You're responsible for following your school's rules — we make no claim about exam compliance, and we're not affiliated with the SAT, ACT, IB, or any exam board.
What's actually inside the calculator?+
A real TI-84 Plus, an ESP32 with a tiny camera, and some wiring. The ESP32 talks to our server over WiFi. The TI-84 stays a real graphing calculator — the AI features sit alongside, not replacing it.
Why not just use my phone?+
You can. People who want this want a single device that's already on the desk during long study sessions, that doesn't get notifications, and that doesn't burn an hour of phone battery.
What happens if I run out of tokens?+
We give you a 20% grace overage so a single bad day doesn't kill the calculator. You'll see a banner in the dashboard. If you blow through that too, requests get a 402 — switch to a higher tier or wait until the next month.
What model does it use?+
Default is Google Gemini 2.5 Flash — fastest and cheapest for most calculator-shaped questions. The Pro tier auto-routes hard math to Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5. BYOK lets you use any of the three with your own key.
Where's the data?+
Hosted on Supabase (Postgres) in the EU/US region you choose. We log token counts, latency and model used per request. We do not log your prompt text or the camera image by default.

The hardware and firmware are open source. The dashboard and SaaS server are proprietary.
